Wedding Ceremonies

If you want your family and friends to speak about your day for years to come – then hire me!

We will chat about your thoughts, feelings and dreams and I will then create a heartfelt bespoke ceremony script that will truly wow your family and friends.

Your love story will be the star of the show, and everyone will hear about how you first met, fell in love and your hopes for the future.

Your family and friends can take part in the ceremony and can sing, do a reading or a speech, whatever you decide. We can also include a ritual of your choice. And not forgetting those personal vows that you create yourselves, (with my help if needed) and exchanging your rings before your guests, making memories to last forever.

And not forgetting, your wedding led by a civil celebrant means you can marry anywhere. It gives flexibility to marry at sunset, in woodlands, at home in the garden or any unlicensed venue of your choice.

This can be a great way of combining couples where one of you wants a semi religious service and the other wants to steer towards family traditions or religion. We can combine elements of the two and create a bespoke ceremony to reflect the wishes of you both.

You may wish to use traditional rituals or bring spiritual elements into your ceremony and include any of the following;

  • Handfasting
  • Unity Candle
  • Sand Ceremony
  • Love Letters
  • Warming the Rings
  • Or let’s create a brand new ritual!

Vow renewals

A magical ceremony celebrating your amazing journey so far and the love you continue to share.

Bringing together your friends and family, or just the two of you, a vow renewal is a ceremony of celebration and recommitment where you will reaffirm your vows to each other. We can get as creative as you like with the vows, funny, tugging at the heart strings, in whichever style you choose. There aren’t any hard or fast rules – the sky is the limit with this ceremony.

And the venue – wherever you like. At home, that park you like to walk through with the dog, the beach you spent hours on with the children, or that nice pub at the end of the street. If you have a special connection to the place, let’s do it there!

We can include members of your original wedding to take part in the ceremony with readings, poems, or even including a ritual. Or let your children do something as a surprise as part of the service, and I will make sure it fits ok.

As special as your wedding day, or probably better!

Naming Ceremonies

A celebration for anyone celebrating new beginnings.

I will create a bespoke and wonderful celebration for your baby or child. We can include readings, music, speeches and rituals that could include bringing the whole family together like tree planting or sowing wildflowers.

A naming ceremony is a non-religious way of giving thanks and wishes and hopes for the future of your bundle of joy.

These ceremonies are a perfect way to welcome adopted children or stepchildren of any age into your family.

Guide parents can be chosen to guide and support your child through their life and gives them that special relationship and connection.

Funerals

An important part of me becoming a celebrant was to make sure your loved one was given a proper goodbye where I focussed on the life they led, the relationships they forged and the legacy they left. I wanted to say this in THEIR way, so loved ones felt as though they were still there for one last day. Too many funerals I have been to have had no recollection to the person I loved, and I felt cheated in my grief.

I swore to myself that I would one day offer a service where nobody left a funeral feeling that way and instead would be able to say, “that was a lovely send off and it represented my loved one perfectly”.

So my promise is to you, I will meet you and family to chat about the life of your loved one and I will create a eulogy that you will share and pass down the generations.

We can include personal readings or poems and I will support anyone who feels they would like to contribute during in the ceremony. We can look at appropriate music, readings or poems.

We can include a ritual in the service. Let’s talk about what they liked doing, listening to, watching and create a ritual that is unique to your family.

I will make sure on the day of the funeral you feel confident and comfortable with me and reassured that everything is just as you had hoped it would be.

I will liaise with the Funeral Director to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Other ceremonies

It doesn’t stop at just a few ceremonies, the possibilities are endless. I can create a grief mandala ceremony for your family to uniquely give thanks for the life of a loved one. This can be done on an anniversary such as their birthday and performed in a special place of yours.

An untying of the knot ceremony where I will create a special script that we have created together to dissolve the promises and vows once made in marriage. This draws a line under the past and celebrates the wonderment of the future.

Or a RENAMING for a person choosing to acknowledge their journey of discovery and symbolise a new beginning.

Nicky, we are so happy we found you. After looking at what felt like hundreds of celebrants information, your name was mentioned and we knew we had to contact you. You feel like a friend now! Thank you for bringing our story to life. You promised you would, but we had no idea that it would be so perfect. We have friends who have just got married and want to do it all again with you as their celebrant. Thank you so much and we will see you next for the babies naming ceremony.
